Biography
Dr. Sam Smith is an engineering researcher and educator whose work sits at the intersection of structural engineering, coastal/marine infrastructure, and machine learning. He earned his Ph.D. in Civil & Environmental Engineering from Princeton University. He has taught hundreds of students at Princeton and tens of thousands of learners online from around the world. His research spans wave–structure interaction, simulation–experiment validation using Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH), and ML-based prediction of structural response and wave pressure distributions, with peer-reviewed publications and international conference presentations.
